As I turned into the driveway tonight, I encountered about a dozen wild turkeys. I don't get to see them very often in the winter, because I usually come and go when it's dark. But the days are getting longer and I now get home before sunset. They roost in the trees near the creek, but spend a lot of time beneath our bird feeders and in the corn fields (when they aren't covered with snow). We have lots of stories about the turkeys, but I'll just leave you with the picture today.
