What's for Dinner?

When we were in England in 2000, we watched the cooking show "The Naked Chef" on BBC TV for the first time. Back home, I've been a pretty faithful viewer of Jamie Oliver's various Food Network cooking shows, including "Jamie at Home". Tonight's main course, Steak and Guinness Pie, is from a recent episode.

The beef, onions, eggs, and cheese were all purchased from our local farmer's market on Saturday. (The best comment of the day came from the vendor selling onions for just $1 a box: "This ain't no chain store, honey!").

A good Minnesotan/British meat pie was just the ticket for a cold February evening, and will provide work-day lunches too! Add some broccoli as a side dish to make it healthy, and Mike's Italian Chocolate Truffles for dessert (great with ice cream), and the result is happy tummies.

Oh, and the answer to "Is this bowl oven-proof?" is apparently "Yes."
