Nicknames

You know how random things circle around in your mind when it's not otherwise occupied? Well, I'm not sure why I was thinking about this, but here are the nicknames I have been known by over the years:

• Anna Banana: typical grade school name for anyone named Ann
• Norb: my brother Rich called me this for a while, but I don't remember why
• Anno: from the Minnesota co-op gang, because Dan was called Danno (remember Hawaii 5-0's "Book 'em Danno!"?)
• AL: our office nameplates were always our two initials and last name, so my office-mate Bill always called me AL.
• Lou: from a greeting card that Mike & I exchanged many years ago

But strangely, I've never been called Annie.
