Bricks and stones

A quick basement update...The masons are back from their vacation, and today we were able to make a decision on the fireplace hearth. We will replace the old brick hearth with a limestone slab, which will be easier to keep clean, and free up some good bricks to replace the ones that broke. Work starts Wednesday, 11/28. We also went carpet shopping this weekend and brought home some samples, but there are no clear winners there.
