The sort-of Deep Freeze
January in Minnesota means cold weather, and we've been having a cold snap for the past week or so, thanks to an Arctic cold front. The coldest we've seen on our home thermometer is -18 degrees on Saturday morning. I wisely opted to run inside on the treadmill instead of outside. But it's been warming up into positive single-digit territory most days, and hasn't been windy, so it really hasn't been all that bad, relatively speaking. Like anything else, you get used to it, and it just makes double digits seem warm. Add 5-6 inches of fresh snow yesterday (really light and fluffy due to the extreme cold), and spring seems a long way away.
