A Finished Quilt

I finished the binding on this quilt last night at our small quilt group gathering. We all bring our own projects to work on each month, although we are also now planning a group quilt for the local Ronald McDonald House. Binding is easily portable handwork, so I try to keep one in waiting for the meetings.

The quilt above was based on a picture I saw in a magazine a couple of years ago. When I compared my finished quilt to the picture, the original quilter was much more deliberate about placing lights and darks on the diagonals to emphasize the main pattern. I like that one better, but this one isn't bad.

As always, the more differenter fabrics I can put in a quilt, the better.

And of course, credit is due to Mike, the resident quilt holder.
