We spent a couple days of our California trip in Sonoma county. We were in the neighborhood primarily to check out Mike's new car, but had time for sight-seeing before we needed to be in Monterey for the Skip Barber driving school. We visited several wineries, following the advice of Lyle, our local liquor store's wine guy, and generally had a pleasant time. This is definitely the off-season, so we were usually the only ones in the tasting rooms, and got to chat quite a bit with the servers, and learn more about the wines and wineries. I also got quite a kick out of these fun sculptures at a couple places.
